Remixed Objects

Remix culture allows artists to create and display new ideas by combining to already existing items. Remix culture is important because it gives artists the ability to show their understanding of the world around them by applying knowledge from observations in daily life.

I chose to include the skull and the Minecraft sword because I like the contrast of the organic shapes of the skull against the geometric shapes of the sword. The image can also show how modern items have began to take hold of our brains.

I combined the frog and this Santa hat because of the contrast the tropical frog and the warm hat would create. Since these objects are rarely seen in conjunction with each other, this adds a uniqueness to the design.

This image was created because I like how the dragon sits on the flat top of the excavator. I think the fantasy element the dragon brings contrasts to the modern machinery it sits on top of.

I chose to combine the apple and this spoon because I wanted to try and make them fit seamlessly  together as one form. I pushed the bottom of the apple a bit through the spoon so it looked like it was sitting inside of it.

I combined this flat object of a man with the 3D detailed armchair because I thought the difference of the dimensions would create an interesting visual. The 2D man creates a hard distinction between the dimensions and really pops .

The image I created between the snowman and the car is once again showing contrast between organic and geometric forms. the different silhouettes create visual interest to distinguish the two objects from each other.
The two objects combined in this image are both organic. The contrast is created with the size of the two objects. The cats body is very small and it creates and interesting visual when combined with the massive t-rex head.

The two objects I put together in this image are interesting because they are both animal related. The skull of the crow makes the body of the sea turtle look less alive. It creates an interesting contrast between the living and the dead.

This image is made up of a block of cheese and a small boat. The elements that make up the cheese are reminiscent of water and bubbles. The boat looks like it is sailing on the the water and it creates a very intriguing visual.
The opposing natural form of the dragon and the elf create a story in the mind of the viewer. Because the elf is standing on top of the dragons wing it creates a sense of power. The difference in sizes and species between the figures creates an even deeper meaning to the image.
