DC-17 BABY

My project is a DC-17 from the Star Wars universe. If you don't know (which I would expect.) I am a HUGE Star Wars fan. My life up to the age of 12 was pretty much just me consuming Star Wars content. I chose this gun because it is the the gun of one of my favourite characters Captain Rex. (I guess he became a commander for a little bit but thats not super relevant.) I didn't take too many process photos as I got pretty sucked into the project. However what process photos I did take have been included.

I first traced and image of the dc-17 and seperated it into pieces then traced and unfolded all the pieces folded the basic unfolded shapes into my first prototype. I used this to determine where I should put the folding pieces (idk what they are called lol).

After this stage I traced all the final pieces from my laptop onto pink paper. I was very inspired by ZimandZou's use of bright colours. I chose the colour pink because I have had a strange attachment to it lately (I used to hate the colour pink so that has been weird). The tracing took a while because all the pieces needed to be in the same scale.) I cut out all the pieces by hand and then glued everything together. That took I think 4.5 - 5ish hours? I zoned out pretty hard in the middle.

There you have it! DC-17. I have wanted to make a DC-17 for a long long time so i'm super glad this project motivated me to do so. I think I will make a second one to have a set!
